In 2009 she received the Sam Taylor Award for NZ’s most up and coming group fitness instructor. In 2010 she became certified as an Advanced BodyBalance™ instructor. Jannette has a passion for instructing, and feels privileged to be working within an industry that helps change people’s lives!

She loves coaching, motivating and educating people while keeping fit and having fun too. Jannette loves going to the gym and exercising to music, so naturally you will find her teaching many of the awesome Les Mills classes at ProActive including BodyPump™, BodyBalance™.

I turned my lifelong passion for anything outdoors and movement-based into a career after having my 2 children. Now 19 and 18 respectively I have even more time to dedicate to my students and clients. An early career in gymnastics lead to competitive horse riding, snow skiing and snowboarding. A visit to Wanaka in my early teens awakened a feeling inside me that I can only say felt like coming home. Finally, many years and qualifications later I am very proud to now call Wanaka home as we build our forever home and put down our final roots here.

Nearly a decade flying with Air New Zealand lead me into a career in the Fitness Industry. I started at Pulse Fitness in Queenstown, qualified as a Personal Trainer, and began my journey as a Les Mills Instructor in Body Balance. Once we moved to Christchurch 12 years ago, I took on Body Pump and CX Works alongside their Personal Trainer Modules. 7 years working for lululemon in various roles from Ambassador to Manager and Assistant Manager supported my dream to qualify as a Yoga Instructor. 200 hours completed in 2017 at Grassroots Yoga in Christchurch followed by 65 hours of Yin Yang/Yoga Nidra with Jo Phee in 2018. The last 2 years I have been teaching Yoga full time alongside Group Fitness at Les Mills in Christchurch.

My motivation in this ever-changing industry comes from connection. Connection to you, the person, and how I can help facilitate you to be the best version of yourself possible in a way that supports your lifestyle. Whether that is in a class or a one-on-one meeting. I hope the person you see on stage is the person you see off stage. My passion is to help people understand how to move in a safe way that enhances their quality and quantity of life.

I started football at age 7 and I have played it all my life. As I got older I started swimming which I love and became a qualified Surf Lifeguard.
I have been attending the gym for 2 years which has created a  love of all things health, fitness and wellness.

 I have always been into health and fitness.

The dedication to be fit and chase my sporting dreams led me to study Phys Ed and Commerce at Otago University in the late 90’s. Currently I am Mum to two small boys and I live and work on the farm with my husband.

We are passionate about horses where we breed, train and compete with them.I worked as a strength and conditioning coach for many years until shifting to Southland in 2010 where I started the Spin programme in Gore.

I became a personal trainer in 2010 after being diagnosed with cancer and going through an intense 6-month round of chemotherapy.
I was determined to educate myself to do everything possible to improve my health & fitness so if I was ever faced with anything like that again I would be as fit, healthy and strong as I could be to fight it off again.

20 Week Challenge

IN A NUTSHELL

  1. Get ready. Decide on max two specific health and fitness goals and which categories that you’d like to blitz over the 20 weeks.  Maybe you want to have more energy or less back pain, run 5 km or a marathon, overcome an injury, learn to swim, quit smoking, sleep better, lose weight, put on weight, be more confident in your own skin and everything health and fitness in between, we have got you covered!
  2. Get set. Have some ‘official’ tests done to see where you are at in your two goal areas. Book your 3D scan and PT goal setting session.
  3. Go! Read your weekly email and start you individualised training plan at home, at the gym, or in the hills.
  4. Somewhere in the course of your 20 weeks have must have at least two sessions with one or more Pts to verify your results.
  5. Get re-tested at the end, be stoked with your results and maybe win a prize for your efforts.

  • Entry fee is NZ$159 for an NRG member
  • Add more PT and 3D scans! $259
  • Can choose a package deal or make your own by adding PT, Group Training

What costs you won’t have
No supplements, weird fitness gizmo’s, pre-packed meals or infomercial thingies and you don’t have to join a gym, hire or buy any home fitness equipment.

Sometimes some of those things can be helpful for some people but we don’t sell any of them and we don’t receive commission or kickbacks from any places that do.

Apart from saving you lots of dosh our very independent status also means our information can be ‘pure’,  unbiased and 100% about your success.
