Moustache Henry who runs this place is not only a genuine person but also an asset to NRG because of his approach to looking after members of other NRG gyms. He gave me a full visit of the layout and made sure that I felt safe and happy at all times. Added bonus having his wee baby dog Freya there doing welfare checks on everyone. I hve been at this gym since it started had a bit of a break but came back when I retired. I hve been going to the LYT yoga classes which are great for my arthritis and also recommend Henry's fit for function classes which are great for older people for fitness and balance . The staff are great and friendly and greet you on arrival. Best gym ever keep up the good work.

Mum and I joined up after the February 2026 free trial. It's Mum's first time at a gym as a novice and she was very nervous to start. We have found the staff and people friendly and non judgemental. Everyone has their own goals and there is plenty of equipment to use which I like, especially as we train early in the morning and weekends. NRG caters for all ages and fitness novices to experts. It does not have the over crowded feel to it, like other gyms. I'm super proud of Mum who's giving her all, as well as the confidence I see growing, as she tries new exercises to become stronger and fitter to maintain her longevity! Thanks to Henry and his team for welcoming us to NRG Sth Dn.

Honestly, I can’t recommend NRG enough. From day one, the staff made me feel super welcome. No judgement, no awkward gym intimidation, just good people and good energy. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned gym-goer, you actually feel like you belong here. There are heaps of classes to choose from, so there’s always something that suits your schedule and keeps things interesting. And somehow the staff make suffering through a workout almost enjoyable… almost. A special shoutout to Henry, who truly goes above and beyond. He remembers your name, makes a real effort to check in with you, and knows exactly how to push you to your potential during PT sessions while still making you feel supported. The whole place has such a positive, uplifting vibe but let’s be real, the real MVP is Freya, the gym dog. 10/10 morale booster, would recommend joining just for her. Best gym, best people, best vibes. No notes.
